The goal of Mercury Orthotics is to provide state-of-the-art
rehabilitation and quality-of-life assistance for restoration of hand
function. The product aids in the rehabilitation of people
recovering from hand injuries, and it serves as an assistive device to
people suffering reduced hand function due to neurological
disorders. In both cases, the process, called
HandStand, is aimed at reducing health care costs while maximizing
patient
care. For people recovering from hand injuries, this is
accomplished
by automating physical therapy tasks. For people with long-term
needs,
this is accomplished by restoring lost hand function, allowing them to
gain
independence.
