AME 437: Control Systems Engineering
Homework 7

B. Goodwine
Spring, 2000
Issued: March 6, 2000
Due: March 8, 2000

Unless otherwise indicated, all problems are from the course text.

Feel free to use the Matlab

           rlocus()
function before you sketch it by hand, but be sure to include all the computations for asymptote angles, departure angles, etc. to receive full credit.
  1. 5.4 (a)
    In addition to what the text requires, additionally, on the same Matlab plot as the root locus, use the
           pzmap()
    function to plot the pole locations of the closed loop system
    for about 4 or 5 different values of K to verify that the poles of the closed loop system are actually on the root locus plot (which is the whole point...)
  2. 5.4 (b)
  3. 5.4 (c)
  4. 5.4 (d)
