Exam 1 Grading

Here is the grading method and point allocation for the problems in exam 1.
- Problem 1:
- Homogeneous solution:
- 4 points for proper method of determining roots
- 2 points for computing the right roots
- 2 points for the correct homogeneous solution
- Particular solution:
- 4 points for proper method (und coef or VoP)
- 2 points for properly computing particular soluion
- 1 point each for c1 and c2
- 3 points for proper solution
- Graph:
- 1 point for oscillatory reponse
- 1 point for decay
- 1 point for proper initial conditions
- 1 point for proper steady state value
- Homogeneous solution:
- Problem 2:
- 5 points for the right eigenvalues
- Homogeneous solution:
- 5 points for proper expression
- 2 points for coefficients
- 2 points for correct solution
- Particular solution
- 5 points for method
- 5 points for correct computations
- 1 point for combining everything properly
- Problem 3
- Find f(x,t) 5;
- Find g(x,t) 5;
- Judgment of exact 4;
- Integration w.r.t x 5;
- Integration w.r.t t 5;
- Final result: 1
- Problem 4
- Equation derivation: 1 point for anything, 3-4 points for correct geometry, 9-10 for correct execution
- Program: 14 points for correct form. -5 for incorrectly splitting up x and y. -5 for only x or only y
