All problems have "minor double-jeopardy" meaning computational mistakes do count off for later in the problem, but only for a small amount.
- Problem 1:
- 10 points for the right conversion to a first order system
- 5 points for the eigenvalues
- 10 points for the eigenvectors
- 10 points for constructing the right solution
- -3 if only construct a 2x2 system
- -10 if the y equation isn't included or solved
- Problem 2
- 10 points for eigenvalues (4) and eigenvectors(6)
- 15 points for particular soluion
- if undetermined coefficients, then 5 for right assumed form, 5 for right procedure and 5 for correct coefficients
- if diagonalization, 7 for using T^-1 A T \eta + T^-1 g, 4 for the matrix math, 3 for right scalar first order solutions and 1 to reassemble the answer
- Problem 3
- 10 for eigenvalues
- 15 for the right combination of eigenvectors/generalized eigenvectors
- 10 points for assembling the solution correctly
