Exercises: all of 6.5 except A7 and A8. A5 and A6 have repeated eigenvectors, so you may want to wait until after Monday's class before you start those. Also do 6.6. For the problems from 6.5 you did last week (A7 and A8) you can use matlab to find the eigenvalues and eigenvectors so you don't have to repeat that work.

Schedule: The first exam will be on Chapter 6. I plan to cover 6.5 next Monday, 6.6 and 6.7 on Wednesday and 6.8 on Friday of next week.

Reading: all of chapter 6 by the end of next week.

In the assignment you say to do all of 6.5 except A7 and A8, but then below you say we can use MATLAB to solve the matrices. Does that mean we should also do A7 and A8?

That is referring to problem 6.6. If you need to re-do the problems from last week in order to do 6.6, you don't have to compute the stuff by hand.
