Problem 1: If used undetermined coefficients, right homogeneous solution = +10, right particular solution = +15. Algebra errors = -1 to -4 depending on severity. If used integral formula, +25, but points off for incorrectly evaluating integral, etc.

Problem 2: Homogeneous solution: +10, 5 for correct method and 5 for correct execution. Particular solution: +15, 5 for correct methods, 5 for correct execution, 5 for correctly combining with homogeneous solution.

Problem 3: Terminal velocity: +10. 5 for right def/idea of terminal velocity, 2 for using it correctly in equation, 3 for right answer/execution. Solution: +15, 5 points for recognizing it's nonlinear, 5 points for either separating it or checking if it's exact, 5 points for attempting to solve either of them.

Problem 4: Use computations only, not figure: +20. Check answer on figure 3-5 depending if it's just a check (3) or uses enough information to basically be solving it using figure 4.16 (5). Attempts to solve with algebra but computational mistakes: 5-12 depending on severity. Use Figure 4.16 but forgot to use static deflection: +15. Right b, but no computation of zeta: -4.
