Reading:

• Chapter 1 sections 1.1 - 1.4.
• You will ultimately be responsible for section 1.5, but I will leave that for you to read at your convenience, as long as it's before the end of October. Section 1.6 will be assigned separately.
• Chapter 2 sections 2.1 - 2.4.

Exercises: 1.8, 2.2 - 2.6, 2.8 and 2.9. Also match the following differential equations with the solutions plotted in the figure without actually solving the equation. Explain your reasoning for each one.

1. x' + 3 x = 3
2. x' + 2 x = 2
3. x' - 2 x = 2
4. x' + 5 x = -5
5. x' + 3 x = -3
