Because the objects are described as falling, you are missing the gravity term. For part d you just need to say something like, "I would use equation 2.27" or "I would use undetermined coefficients" or whatever the solution method is that you would use....on the Fall 2013 exam, problem 4. We believe we got answers for parts a through c, but wanted to double check and get some help on part d. For a, we got v=d/k and for part b we got v=sqrt(d/k). Part a would be linear and part b would be nonlinear. If these are correct, we don't exactly know what to solve for in part d. We are grateful for any help or advice. Thank you!
