Reading: all of Chapter 7, sections 1-6.

Exercises: from the pdf under "Resources" in Sakai:
  • 6.3 c, d, f and h; 6.8 d. Sketch the Bode plots and verify in Matlab. For each Bode plot
    • determine the system type and steady-state error to a step, ramp and acceleration input for the closed-loop system and verify the answer using simulink
    • show from the Bode plot whether the system is minimum phase
    • if it is possible from the Bode plot, indicate the range of positive gains for which the closed-loop system would be stable and verify with a Matlab root locus plot and simulink simulation
  • 6.17 b. Also indicate the system type and how the steady-state error would change with different types of inputs (step, ramp, etc)
  • 6.19 a and b.
