Homework 1: My Selected Patent

Patent 4,538,509
Automatic bread baking machine
Filing date: Jun 28, 1984
Issue date: Sep 3, 1985

This was the first patent for a bread maker issued in the United States. This invention interests me because I enjoy baking and eating bread, and without this invention, home bread-baking would be much more tedious and difficult. The patent claims a variety of things necessary for bread makers, such as a rotary dough kneader, a square-tubular baking pan, and a control panel. However, the patent also claims some things that are no longer included in modern-day bread makers, like an ice cooled water tank.
