The Patent
- The case is mounted to the airplane, which accelerates
- The case moves and something in it does not move, which can measure the acceleration
- 14’s in Fig.2 hold it in place (spring-like)
- Capacitance: C*dv/dt = I
- Potential (voltage) builds up
- As plates move apart, capacitance goes down linearly
- C ~ A/d
- Capacitance related to acceleration
- Oscillator has sinusoidal voltage across it – if one of four capacitors in Wheatstone bridge is different (19), voltage induced
- Diodes allow current to only flow one way
- Coil provides restoring force (makes springs stronger)
- Also shows how big signal is
