Snowboard Binding (Patent # 4973073)

  • Date Issued: March 17, 1989
  • This is a patent for a new kind of snowboard binding, one which can be secured simply by stepping into the binding with the proper boot, without the need for straps or laces. I found this patent interesting because snowboarding is a relatively new sport; but it has become extremely popular very quickly. This patent also appeals to my personal passion for snowboarding and my disgust with strap-on bindings.
