The Patent

  • The case is mounted to the airplane, which accelerates
  • The case moves and something in it does not move, which can measure the acceleration
  • 14’s in Fig.2 hold it in place (spring-like)
  • Capacitance: C*dv/dt = I
    • Potential (voltage) builds up
    • As plates move apart, capacitance goes down linearly
    • C ~ A/d
  • Capacitance related to acceleration
  • Oscillator has sinusoidal voltage across it – if one of four capacitors in Wheatstone bridge is different (19), voltage induced
  • Diodes allow current to only flow one way
  • Coil provides restoring force (makes springs stronger)
    • Also shows how big signal is
