For 2.1, it asks about methods we've learned up to this point. Does that mean what we've learned in class (since you've taught past chapter 2), or what has been presented in the book up until the problem (only chapt 1 and 2)?

It is only for methods up through that point in the book.

Someone asked me:
Just 2 really quick questions:
1. Does approximating a numerical solution work for any differential equation, if there is a solution?
2. When solving for constants in 2nd order differential equations, it is possible c = all reals?
1. Yes, as long as the equation has a solution, you can use a numerical method to find it.

2. I'm not sure what you are asking. If you are referring to the constants that are in the linear combination of the two homogeneous solutions then it will be the case that for sure they are real -- unless the differential equation itself has complex coefficients in it.
