Course notes

Post by goodwine »

You can find the most recent version of the course notes here. There is a timestamp which will indicate the last time they were updated. They will likely be frequently updated, so unless you have something against trees, I would suggest not printing them until you really need them.

NOTE: these are provided with the hope that they are useful. I guarantee that there are typos, errors and ambiguities in these. The course was presented so that what was presented in class along with Boyce and DiPrima are all the materials that you need (along with your ability to think) to complete the course. You may or may not find these notes useful, and particularly if you think you will be distracted by any mistakes and/or typos, I would suggest not downloading them. However, perhaps they may be useful for you, in which case I would recommend downloading them.

If you find any mistakes in the notes, I would greatly appreciate it if you brought them to my attention.

Conversely, however, I unfortunately will not be able to answer any questions regarding the notes. They are simply too preliminary. If you encounter any ambiguity always refer to the notes you took in class as the primary and correct source of information. Not often, but sometimes in these printed notes I would explore an alternative way of presenting things, which may be good, or may be bad, or may be wrong, or whatever. Especially questions along the lines of "X is in the notes but I don't remember covering it in class, are we responsible for it?" will have to go unanswered.
