Exam 1 grading

Post by goodwine »

The system for grading exam 1 was as follows:
    • 2 points each for correct eigenvalues and eigenvectors
    • 13 points for assembling everything correctly in a general solution
    • 5 points for the correct eigenvalues
    • 10 points for correct computations
    • 10 points for correctly checking the answer
    • only gave general solution, but didn't do/forgot to compute the particular solution for the given initial conditions: -5
    • only included up to t term (didn't include t^2): -9
    • wrong form of solution (no powers of t or higher powers of t, such as t^3): -20
    • wrong eigenvalues with none repeated: -15
    • wrong engeinvalues with only 2 repeated: -12
    • choosing a linearly dependent set of generalized eigenvalues: -12
    • right form of f(t): 3
    • correctly Laplace transforming of everything: 7
    • correct X(s): 10
    • correct inverse Laplace transform: 5
    • calculation errors: -1 or -2 depending on severity
    • calculation errors propagating to X(s): -5
