SC case

drawings existed but not physical embodiment of invention before critical date

  • accurate drawings - physical item ended up being what was drawn

physically reduced to practice sometime after critical date

court says on sale bar exists when the invention exists as a completed concept, not necessarily when a physical embodiment is produced.

  • product must be subject of commercial offer for sale
  • ready for patenting
    • reduction to practice b4 critical date
    • or prior to...completed drawings, etc such that person skilled in prior art could have reduced it to practice
